Triton in Wenceslas Square is Prague's première Art Nouveau restaurant, with a unique interior designed to resemble a stalactite cave. First opened in 1912 this superb restaurant has managed to preserve its’ unique individual style and reputation ever since. A fairly small and intimate restaurant, Triton is located in the cellars of the luxurious Adria Hotel. Set amongst the stalactites are statues and sculptures from Greek mythology, recounting the story of Eurydice and her husband Orpheus. A large tropical fish tank adds colour to the room, and clever lighting brings out the most of the interesting surroundings, creating a magical atmosphere. The menu at Triton offers a good choice of Czech and International cuisine. Likewise, the wine list features a fine selection of accompanying wines that cater for all palettes and occasions. If you are off to the Opera, or you are simply looking for a good restaurant in Wenceslas Square, you will be hard pressed to find a better restaurant than Triton. Ideal for a romantic couple or for groups looking to spend a pleasant, relaxed evening in the company of friends this is a great longstanding favorite.
