This is Three One Two and Andrew McConnell (best known for Dining 211 and his role as Executive Chef at Circa) is back in the kitchen, bringing his signature style to Carlton. A nine course degustation menu is the perfect way to appreciate what has been described as McConnell's quirky and original style. The Signature starter “cigar box” is the size of a small Cohiba, crafted from Tunisian brik pastry, it is filled with fromage blanc and an olive and fig tapenade. Alternatively order from the standard menu to experience the finesse of dishes like poached quail leg pie and the roasted and poached pheasant with bread sauce. The wine list is worthy of study and the produce is only the finest. To finish, linger over the poached autumn fruits with pain perdue and chestnut cream.
