This exceedingly trendy Midtown Pan-Asian restaurant and lounge club features a dramatic bi-level space, complete with a giant Buddha statue, minimalist decor and interesting food. Housed in a former movie theater, Tao makes the most of its soaring ceiling, exposed brick walls and intimate banquettes. In addition to the Buddha, there's plenty of bamboo, silk upholstery and backlit screens. The food will transport you to another world — the menu takes Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai dishes and adds a touch of New York flair for good measure.
