Aeris Lifestyle >> Paris >> Taillevent

15 Rue Lamennais,
Tel: +33 144951501

This is the Parisian ne plus ultra of gastronomy. Taillevent opened in 1946 and has climbed steadily in excellence; today it ranks as Paris's outstanding all-around restaurant, challenged only by Alain Ducasse and Pierre Gagnaire. Located in a grand 19th-century town house off the Champs-Elysées, with paneled rooms and crystal chandeliers, the place is small, which permits the owner to give personal attention to every facet of the operation and maintain a discreet atmosphere. You might begin with boudin (sausage) of Breton lobster à la Nage or cream of watercress soup with Sevruga caviar. Main courses include red snapper with black olives and cassolette of crayfish. The wine list is among the best in Paris with many French and International varietals in the ranks. Along with such established names as the Ivy, L’Osier and French Laundry, Taillevent enjoys a reputation afforded to only a handful of restaurants in the world, a restaurant that enjoys an elite clientele, exceptional culinary pedigree, exemplary wine list and ‘special’ ambience. After over half a century Taillevent has more than secured its’ place amongst the worlds top eateries.
