Though Bostonians are a fiercely loyal lot, this national heavyweight has managed to hold its own in a dense pack of local chophouses. Located in “The Castle”---a former armory on the National Historical Registry---it offers a truly unique (if not particularly warm) setting; the view of the dining room from the mezzanine bar is especially commanding. So is the 650-bottle, all-American wine list and mostly traditional menu, laden with all the classic cuts and sides in mammoth sizes. Of course, the price tags are also mammoth.
