Unquestionably the cities premier location to dine Restaurant Jules Verne boasts an unrivalled location on the second tier of the Eiffel tower. This is France at its very best: succulent food by Alain Reix, palate-tingling wine, superb views – and an inevitable touch of romance for which Paris is famous. Named after one of France’s most famed authors the magic of Jules Verne’s wandering imagination is brought to the place, which is themed on an airship hovering 125 meters above Paris. Dinner at night is particularly enchanting, as the lights are dimmed discreetly so as not to distract from the awe-inspiring view of Paris itself, but lunchtime is not exactly a hardship either in one of the world’s most evocatively situated restaurants. Alain Ducasse has now taken the reigns, promising to maintain the excellent reputation former chef Alain Reix garnered, that placed the restaurant among the top in France with its michellin starred International menu. Petit pain stuffed with crab meat and Japanese-influenced ravioli with scallops and enoki mushrooms give the menu a thoroughly global allure.
