Monte Carlo is right on one of the busiest corners on South Street, but it's light years away indoors. The original flashy décor has been changed to a more rustic feel, with heavy beams, dark wood tables, some modern art, and a great deal more space. A large table at the room's center displays the fruits and vegetables of the season. Departed chef Daniel Cappella cooked more in the French style, with stuffed quail, and duck breast, and nary a pasta in sight. Those who miss the old Monte Carlo can still find the copious hors d'oeuvres upstairs in the Living Room, but downstairs, it's strictly France. Now it's anybody's guess as to which direction The Monte Carlo Living Room will take.
