A big circular bar, pizzas from the wood-burning oven, a patio and windows that open out onto the street, make this one of the most popular see-and-be-seen destinations in Aspen, especially après ski. From three to five p.m., winter and summer, the Après Ski Special is in effect---$5 vegetable, pepperoni or cheese pizzas with $2 drafts of Heiniken or Amstel. In the evening, the room is loud with a slick New York/L.A. kind of crowd ordering up the rock shrimp penne with avocado and cream sauce and the seared ahi tuna served rare with homemade shrimp-sausage hash. Crabcakes are the favorite appetizer and the apple crisp dessert is a staple. Reservations are only taken for parties of six or more, so prepare for a wait at the height of the season.
