Meritage is a paean to the alchemy of food and wine. Of course, the Boston Harbor Hotel's signature restaurant is also a testament to the equally keen ambition and talent of chef Daniel Bruce. Proffered in an arty and sophisticated---if somewhat aloof---space overlooking Rowes Wharf, Bruce's menu lists its dishes, available in half or full portions, according to the type of wine they complement in order to facilitate sampling and pairing. For instance, if you're partial to light, crisp whites, you'd do well to try the wonderfully simple steamed lobster in roasted tomato–saffron broth drizzled with rouille (think bouillabaisse stripped down to its bare essentials); if you prefer spicy reds, a dish like the yellowfin seared with coriander and paired with a rich Syrah will suit your sip to a T. We recommend an all-day fast---financial as well as alimentary---so you can mix-and-match to your tummy's content, right through to the dessert samplers built around red fruits, white fruits, citrus or nuts.
