This casually elegant Galleria-area hideaway has become the place to be seen for Houston's upper crust. Father-son team Tony and Russell Masraff have kept it all in the family along with Tony's cousin, Georges Masraff, who heads up the kitchen and hails from New York's Tavern on the Green and Windows on the World. Within a pseudo-Tuscan setting of cathedral ceilings and chandeliers, an ambience some might consider a touch chilly, Masraff has crafted a menu of American classics with a European accent. Highlights include lobster bisque under the dome; layered smoked salmon Napoleon; an impressive seafood platter; and several choices of pork, beef, veal, chicken, wild game and duck. Hang out at the spacious bar for drinks or appetizers of pizza from the wood-fired oven.
