Romance abounds at this Persian haunt, occupying a townhouse on one of Beacon Hill's quaintest side streets, filled with soothing hues, tapestries and antique maps. Even the menu's back-story is lovely: Sibling proprietors Babak Bina and Azita Bina-Seibel rely on the heirloom recipes of their Azerbaijani mother. And the resulting dishes add to the magic: a well-versed waitstaff can walk you through such richly aromatic specialties as kashk-e-bademjan---roasted, mashed eggplant served with caramelized onions, minced beef and swirls of sour goats'-milk yogurt; wonderful soups flavored with dried fruits and hot peppers; deliciously tender lamb and oven-roasted sturgeon; and exotic soups and stews flavored with everything from rose petals and cumin to dried fruits and saffron. The wine list is heavily Mediterranean, featuring some nice bottles from southern France.
