Fine dining is the name of the game at Constantia Uitsig farm and winery’s three restaurants, the pick of which is the quite marvelous, La Colombe. Chef Franck Dangereux transforms local produce into a menu that sings of his native French province: expect flavorful renderings of pan bagna (salad niçoise sandwiched into French bread), and tartare of tuna with crème fraîche and salmon caviar. Wine is of a similarly high caste, showcasing some fabulous international selections alongside the usual domestic highlights. Awash with warm yellows and sky blues the dining room has a welcoming allure, enhanced by the doting employees meandering around the place. French doors in the dining room open onto a lavish courtyard with mountainous backdrop, providing a pastel-like view to complete the lovely scene.
