Since the 1930’s this bistro has been close to the heart of Paris’ gourmands. Thanks to its’ excellent food served in copious portions and its old-fashioned décor it still retains the same alluring attraction today. Those looking for a glimpse of Paris as depicted in Hemmingway’s moveable feast would do well to dine here. Though reservations are a rare commodity indeed, to step through the door here is to step into another time entirely. The tight lipped waiters and gravy brown décor hark back to the bistro’s turn of the century heyday and the received ambience a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the modern dining establishment. A favourite of Thomas Keller, who modelled his Bouchon chain on this little gem, L’Amis Louis offers pristine classic French cuisine served in a classic, refined setting.
