Flaunting stylish, minimalist décor, breathtaking views, sophisticated atmosphere and, of course, cuisine to die for Hutong is the place all of Hong Kong’s trendsetters and businessmen are currently flocking to dine and be seen. The new flagship for the blossoming Aqua Resaturant Group, Hutong serves up Traditional Northern Chinese fare in an emotively lit labyrinthine dining-room. Propped up on the 28th floor of One Peking in Kowloon bay Hutong features unrivalled views of Hong Kong island, and the busy harbour before it. Typically for the orient the food here is unlike any other place on earth, so an open mind is recommended. Pig throat with shredded scallions and Corriander or Sea cucumber wrapped in mung bean tagliatele are just two of the dishes that may arrive at your table, unusually discerning for the cynic yet utterly exquisite and rewarding for those of an inquisitive disposition. Naturally there’s the traditional oriental standard of service, with staff brandishing an everlasting grin ear to ear, suggesting that they are always happy to see you and willing to serve. The drinks, as one has come to expect of Aqua run establishments, are truly things of beauty with a seemingly endless rainbow of signature cocktails flowing freely throughout the floor. And at the end one can always shoot upstaurs to the dizzyingly chic Aqua Bar if you aren’t ready to leave quite yet!
