Owned and operated by the same family since the end of World War II, this popular seafood restaurant occupies a trio of very old fishermen's cottages 1 block from the sea. A veritable institution English’s is now afforded the kind of reputation usually reserved for local treasures. For years, diners have enjoyed native oysters on the half shell, a hot seafood platter with hollandaise sauce and garlic butter, grilled Dover sole, and fresh, locally caught plaice. The upstairs dining area incorporates murals depicting Edwardian dinner and theater scenes. In summer, guests can dine alfresco on the beautiful terrace overlooking a quaint piazza.
