In a neighbourhood teeming with restaurants, Cluny distinguishes itself by being a bit more elegant, polished and thoughtful than its rivals. The space is wonderfully airy for lunch and quite romantic for dinner; if you find yourself a date, the lowish tables for two with small, upholstered chairs are sure to be a hit. The French-influenced food is consistently excellent and particularly well presented, though the meat is a few notches ahead of the fish, as is often true in Buenos Aires (which famously “turns its back to the river”). On weekends you should definitely book ahead.
