Since bursting upon the scene in 1995, SoBe's first concept restaurant remains as relevant as ever, the vast, vibrant room still loud, chaotic, and stylistically up-to-date, people-watching still first-rate, the bar still bustling into the wee hours. Executive chef Keyvan Behnam keeps much of the signature World Cuisine intact with dishes rising to top-tier status indeed, like a starter of Kobe beef tartare spiked with piquant Chinese mustard sauce, and entrées such as crisply grilled, sake-marinated chicken, and miso-glazed black cod in light lemon grass shiitake broth. Biggest difference between China Grill then and now is the eclectic sushi served in the adjacent 40-seat Dragon den,making it even better than it was before.
