With the arrival and popularity of Bonsai, the only Japanese restaurant in the city, many affluent Lagosians have embraced Japanese cuisine with chutzpah. The interior is pure Kyoto tradition (fella’s don’t expect any geisha girls!) with wood paneling and traditional cutlery and dining etiquette. The food is delicious (and deliciously expensive), featuring sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki and all the other Japanese classics of we know and love done to perfection. There’s also something you won’t get in a traditional Kyoto restaurant…and excellent western stocked wine-list.
