Even after nearly ten years the uber-fashionable St Martins Lane Hotel and its flash restaurant Asia De Cuba are at the zenith of London’s “it” scene. The oh so chic dining room is a barn of a space, split across two levels and decorated in a sexy cream and white color-scheme that is more feng-shui than a Timotei TV commercial. The chic restaurant has a chic menu to match, Asian meets Cuban funnily enough (though the emphasis lies strongly on Asian) with a host of different menus on offer (including a very special Kobe Beef bill of fare for the carnivourous amongst us) and some excellent dishes designed to share in a Nobu-esque modern tapas kind of scenario. The wine list is varied and chosen very cleverly to accentuate Asian food rather than just propagating some impressive names. The swanky chi-chi Light bar offers the perfect place to sip pre-sinner drinks or start up the after dinner party.
