Back in the twentieth century this small Osteria (literally translated as "the Bunch of Grapes") was the favourite meeting place of artists and movie stars. Today, it maintains it’s position as one of the grand dames of the Venetian restaurant scene, catering to a faithful clientele of wealthy Italians. The decor is a multifarious palette of plants, sculpture, candlelight, and paintings set against brick and white-stucco walls. The owner, Lucio Zanon, speaks fluent English and will introduce you to a wide-ranging menu of fresh pasta, seasonal risotto, and meat and seafood. A treat in late spring is the thick white asparagus from Bassano, which, with a couple of fried eggs, is eaten as a main course. Desserts are all homemade
